The popularity of electronic cigarettes, the newest substitute to smoking tobacco, is increasing rapidly. In turn, the folks over at White Cloud Cigarettes continue to develop and improve their e-cigarette product line. Being a big fan of the Cirrus 2, I was anxious to try out their newest electronic smoke, the Cirrus 3.

By far the most significant difference between the Cirrus 2 and 3 is the new quick draw technology, making it easier than ever to get a substantial drag from your e-cigarette. The improvement is clear the instant you put your lips to the cartridge. It draws vapor as easy as a traditional cigarette draws smoke. However, aside from that, there is a lack of noticeable upgrades between the newest Cirrus 3 and past models. The newest Cirrus is 3/8” shorter and 36% lighter than any of its predecessors. This hardly caused a noticeable difference in convenience as their products have always been extremely light and handy to carry. I can hardly imagine anyone needing to upgrade based on the weight of a piece of metal and plastic smaller than a ballpoint pen.

The Cirrus 3 has one noteworthy downgrade in quality. The new batteries only last around 190 puffs per full charge. This is a forty percent decrease from the 320 puffs that the Cirrus 2 gave per charge. Perhaps this is a result of the increased levels of vapor per draw. This makes it much more difficult to go for a whole outing or night without having to recharge your battery. In fact, when I brought my Cirrus 3 out as my nicotine fix for a night recently my e-cigarette was dead within a few hours of going out. By the end of the night I found myself purchasing a pack of the same Camel cigarettes that I had been trying to avoid by bringing my Cirrus 3. Admittedly, I did not think to bring the new AC charger with me in case my cigarette battery was going to die, but in reality, how many people are really going to plug in and charge this e-cigarette while they are out at a bar, restaurant, or party? These are not appropriate settings to charge your cell phone and I do not see it being any different for electronic cigarettes.

While the upgrades on the Cirrus 3 did not meet my expectations, it is certainly a top of the line e-cigarette, just as the past two models have been. White cloud makes some of the smoothest, most distinct flavor cartridges on the market. The cigarettes are built well and do not break easily. If you have another Cirrus cigarette already I wouldn’t hurt myself trying to pay for the Cirrus 3 but it is certainly worth the cost for those looking to buy a high quality first electronic cigarette.
