Why Choose Electronic Cigarettes over Conventional Cigarettes

It’s a common fact that in North America at least 20% of both males and females are smokers. With anti-smoking campaigns rampantly warning against the adverse side-effects of smoking it’s a wonder that people smoke at all. In fact, conventional cigarettes contain at least 43 known carcinogens and many other toxic ingredients such as arsenic, formaldehyde, ammonia, carbon monoxide, and tar. The main ingredient in the cigarette, what the smoker essentially craves, is Nicotine, and it occurs naturally in tobacco. Imagine a cigarette that contains only Nicotine and not the other 400 harmful toxins that comes along with it. It’s called the electronic cigarette and it is the alternative to smoking deadly cigarettes.

Cigarettes Contain Carcinogens and Toxic Ingredients

Smoking is addictive, and Nicotine in small doses has the same effects as caffeine. However, the average lit cigarette can emit up to 4,000 harmful chemicals. Cigarettes deplete energy, cause fatigue, sleeplessness, and yellowing of the teeth, fingers, and skin. The smell lingers and clings to furniture, walls, cars, clothes, hair, and anything else that is porous in texture. Even a snubbed out cigarette can cause a nose or two to wrinkle in disgust. Cigarettes packs themselves warn against smoking because it has been linked to brain damage, impotence, emphysema and other respiratory diseases, and degradation of soft tissues such as the lungs, liver, and heart. Smoking is so damaging to the human body that it has actually caused strokes, cancer, and heart attacks. Not to mention second hand smoke is another leading cause of smoking related diseases in non-smokers.

Benefits of Electronic Cigarettes

With an upward of 70% of the United States falling under some form of smoking ban it’s becoming increasingly difficult for smokers be allowed cigarettes in public places. Electronic cigarettes have yet to fall victim to FDA disapproval or banning, and are therefore allowed in public places where conventional cigarettes are not. Electronic cigarettes are designed to look and feel like a conventional cigarette but without the ashes, smell, and harmful chemicals. The Electronic cigarette is battery operated and each one comes with its own charger. The mouthpiece is a small plastic tube, and located inside is the Nicotine cartridge. The filter has been replaced with the electronic cigarette’s atomizer, a small vaporizer, which allows the Nicotine to be inhaled. The battery is stored in the length of the electronic cigarette, and a LED light is affixed to the end to simulate the cherry of a conventional cigarette. When the smoker inhales the LED light turns on, the battery heats up the atomizer, and the vaporizer then enables the smoker to inhale the Nicotine. The smoke, unlike conventional cigarettes, is tasteless and odourless, and still delivers the same amount of Nicotine without emitting deadly carcinogens and 4,000 other harmful toxins. Simply put electronic cigarettes are just healthier that conventional cigarettes. While it doesn’t act as a NRT—Nicotine Replacement Thearpy—because it doesn’t break the hand to mouth habit, it does stop delivering debilitating chemicals to the smoker’s nervous system, therefore, eliminating all of the deadly side-effects.
